Me- But i put in for leave for that day over a month ago..
Boss- Yes i know but i also knew a month ago we would not have staff to cover you.
Me- Well i’m just letting you know i will not be in that day.
Boss- I’m going to have to speak to my boss about it then.
Me- Yeah that would be great I don’t mind getting a warning.
They can’t fire me as i have no warnings (we get 3) and my friend is willing to give me a sick cert for the day mwahahaha
